Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms define the conditions and procedures for using the Service, and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and users.

Article 2 (Definitions)

• "Service" means the Macro Weather learning PWA and related features provided at https://macroweather.app and through related applications and APIs.
• "User" means any person who uses the Service, whether or not registered.
• "Member" means a user who has signed up via Google social login.
• "Content" means all information provided in the Service, including learning concepts, quizzes, chart patterns, macro indicators, the MTSI index, AI tutor responses, scenarios and blog posts.
• "Paid subscription" means a paid plan set by the Company, such as Pro (₩12,900/month) or Master (₩29,900/month).
• "Oracle completion badge" means an in-app symbol of learning completion issued at 25,000 cumulative XP. It is not a state-recognised certification.

Article 3 (Publication and Amendment of Terms)

1. The Company publishes these Terms where users can readily access them, including within the Service.
2. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. For amendments, the Company will give notice of the reason, content and effective date at least 7 days in advance (at least 30 days in advance for changes that are unfavourable to users or otherwise material), via in-app notice and email.
4. If you do not agree to an amendment, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.

Article 4 (Provision and Modification of the Service)

The Company provides, among others:

• Learning content on macroeconomics, charts and investing concepts (300+ concepts, 64 chart patterns)
• Quizzes, daily missions, XP, leagues and badges
• Macro Live — market commentary based on public FRED indicators
• The MTSI index — a community sentiment measure aggregated from the weather ratings users assign in their reports and scenarios (it reflects the distribution of user opinion, not indicator values)
• Friend leagues and social features
• AI Tutor (Pro and above), Macro Time Machine, Oracle Workshop
• Portfolio Clinic, Unveiled Hand (Master)
• Other features the Company may add

The Company may modify the Service for improvement or technical reasons, and will give prior notice of material changes.

Article 5 (Accounts)

1. Membership is completed when you sign in with Google and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. One account per person. You must not misuse or impersonate another person's account.
3. Children under 14 may register only with the consent of a legal guardian.
4. You may delete your account at any time from Settings > My data · Account. On deletion, all data is erased immediately except records the Company must retain by law (see Article 7 and the Privacy Policy).

Article 6 (Paid Subscriptions and Payment)

2) Payment

• Payments are processed by a payment gateway designated by the Company. The gateway in use is shown on the payment screen.
• Subscriptions renew monthly and automatically. You may cancel at any time from Settings > Subscription.
• After cancellation you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, then move to the Free plan.
• The Company does not store card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials.

3) Price changes

The Company may change prices and will notify existing subscribers at least 30 days in advance by email and in-app notice. If you do not accept a price increase, you may cancel at any time.

4) Promotions and Founding Members

• The specific terms of promotional benefits (free periods, discounts) follow the applicable in-service announcement page.
• Open-ended benefits such as "lifetime discount" apply for as long as the Service continues to operate and the relevant plan remains available, and may lapse if the Service is discontinued or the plan is withdrawn.
• The Company may reclaim benefits obtained by abuse (multiple accounts, etc.).
• Changes to promotional benefits will be notified at least 30 days in advance, and benefits already granted will not be reduced retroactively.

Article 7 (Refunds and Withdrawal of Subscription)

1) Withdrawal within 7 days of payment

1. You may withdraw your subscription within 7 days of payment under Article 17 of the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.
2. If you have not used any paid feature, you receive a full refund.
3. If you have partly used paid features, you may still withdraw; the Company refunds the amount paid less the value of the portion already supplied, calculated as in section 2 below.

2) Cancellation after 7 days

1. You may cancel at any time after the 7-day period.
2. The Company refunds the amount corresponding to the unused remainder of the billing period:
   • Used portion = monthly price × (days from payment to cancellation request ÷ total days in the billing cycle)
   • Refund = amount paid − used portion − cancellation fee (capped at 10% of the amount paid, per the Korean Content User Protection Guidelines)
3. If the calculated refund is zero or less, no refund is due; in that case you retain paid features until the end of the billing period.

3) Company fault

If you cannot properly use the Service because of the Company's fault (a service outage of 24 consecutive hours or more caused by factors within the Company's control, a material defect in paid features, etc.), the Company will refund the amount corresponding to that period in full and without a cancellation fee, or extend your subscription accordingly.

4) Limitations

Refunds may be limited where your account has been restricted for breach of these Terms (Article 9), or where payment was made using benefits obtained by fraud. The Company will not use this section to unfairly restrict the statutory withdrawal right in section 1.

5) How to request

1. Request a refund via Settings > Support in the app or at nickyjomacro.edu@gmail.com.
2. The Company responds within 3 business days and, where a refund is due, processes it within a further 3 business days.
3. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Your card issuer or payment provider may take an additional 3–7 business days.

Article 8 (User Obligations)

You must not:

• Misuse another person's account or personal data
• Infringe the intellectual property, reputation or other rights of the Company or others
• Interfere with stable operation of the Service (hacking, scraping, reverse engineering, automated scripts)
• Register false information, or obtain XP, league standing or badges by improper means
• Reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from Service content for commercial purposes without the Company's prior written consent
• Use the AI Tutor to elicit illegal, harmful or personal-data-related output
• Otherwise breach applicable law or these Terms

Article 9 (Restrictions on Use)

1. The Company may restrict use or terminate membership where you breach these Terms or applicable law.
2. Use is restricted immediately in cases such as: XP or badges obtained improperly; payment fraud including card misuse; conduct that seriously impairs service stability; defamation or harassment of other users.
3. You may appeal a restriction at nickyjomacro.edu@gmail.com.

Article 10 (Intellectual Property)

1. Copyright and other intellectual property in Service content (concept explanations, quizzes, the chart pattern library, the MTSI algorithm, mascots, UI design, blog posts) belongs to the Company.
2. "Macro Weather", "MTSI", the mascot characters and logos are trademarks of the Company.
3. You may not reproduce, transmit, publish, distribute or broadcast information obtained from the Service, or let a third party do so, without the Company's prior written consent.
4. You retain copyright in content you create in the Service (such as Oracle Workshop scenarios). You grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for operating and promoting the Service.
5. Third-party data and APIs (FRED, Anthropic Claude and others) are governed by their own terms. The Company grants you no right to redistribute them.

Article 11 (Disclaimers and Investment Notice)

1. The Company is not registered as an investment adviser, discretionary investment manager or similar under the Korean Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act, and the Service is provided for education only.
2. All content in the Service (the MTSI index, Macro Live commentary, AI Tutor responses, Time Machine scenarios, Portfolio Clinic prescriptions, Macro Lingo scenarios, Today's Market Question and its AI-written explanations) consists of learning metaphors and examples and is not a recommendation to buy or sell.
3. Today's Market Question is generated automatically by applying thresholds defined by the Company (e.g. a neutral rate of about 2.5%) to public economic indicators. The correct answer is correct only within those stated thresholds and does not represent settled academic or market consensus; explanation text is written by AI and its factual accuracy is not guaranteed.
4. You are solely responsible for any investment decision made using information from the Service and for its outcome. The Company accepts no legal liability for such decisions.
5. The Company is not liable for errors, delays or interruptions in external data sources (FRED, Twelve Data and others). Where an external indicator cannot be retrieved, the Service may fall back to a past reference value, in which case the screen indicates that a reference value is shown. This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
6. AI Tutor (Claude-based) responses are for learning reference only and accuracy and completeness are not guaranteed. Verify important matters against official sources or a qualified professional.
7. The Company is not liable for interruptions caused by events beyond its control, including natural disasters, war, network failures or payment gateway outages.
8. The Company has no obligation to intervene in disputes between users or between a user and a third party arising through the Service, and is not liable for resulting damage.
9. The Oracle completion badge is an in-app learning symbol and is unrelated to professional certifications such as CFA or FRM. The Company does not endorse any professional activity based on it.

Article 12 (Governing Law and Disputes)

1. The Company and users will endeavour to resolve disputes amicably and in good faith.
2. If a dispute is not resolved, you may apply to the Korea Consumer Agency's Consumer Dispute Settlement Commission under the Framework Act on Consumers.
3. These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the competent court is determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
4. Consumers resident outside Korea: nothing in this Article deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, or of the right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country where such law so provides.
